Glorious Falls!

Glorious Falls!

After staying up late the night before (didn’t get to bed until midnight) I awoke at 4:30am. Since I was wide awake, I decided to catch the sunrise. Once I looked outside there was not a cloud in the sky and capturing a lackluster sunrise was not what I had in mind. But regardless of that, I jumped into my jeep and started driving with no end destination. I headed on I-70west and just kept driving…and driving… While driving I remembered seeing pictures of Rifle Falls State Park and seeing that I’ve never been there I decided that was to be my destination. After another hour in the jeep I arrived in the town of Rifle, CO. Just outside of the town lies not one but three state parks: Rifle Falls, Harvey Gap and Rifle Gap. After driving through Rifle Gap I arrived at Rifle Falls at around 8:30am. In all, it took just 3 and a half hours from my home in Arvada to the park. The park has some amazing scenery! From the 3 60ft tall waterfalls to the countless caves, it is truly a park that should not be missed. I’m planning on going back to do further exploring!
