For the first time in quite awhile I decided to wake up for a sunrise shoot. After waking up at around 5:15 and leaving out the door around 5:45 I soon realized that there wasn’t going to be much of a sunrise. I decided to head west but at the last moment went south to I-70. While driving I’d figure to take photos at Barr Lake State Park along I-76. But after being uninspired from what I saw I just kept driving. I left the interstate after passing Sterling and headed North to Nebraska.
Once I arrived in Nebraska I had to get gas and find a map as I had no clue where I was. After looking at the map I realized that I was rather close to the Oregon Trail and the natural landmarks along it. The rock formations were pretty spectacular and the history I learned there was great. I’m surprised more people weren’t around there. After checking out that part of Nebraska I headed to Cheyenne, Wyoming and then back home in Colorado. Overall it was a great unplanned multi-state trip.
