Early this morning my father and I decided to catch the sunrise. Although the skies were mostly cloudy we were hoping that the sun would manage to break through. We originally planned to head up north towards Longmont but noticed that the clouds got thicker up north. So in lieu of that we headed south towards Red Rocks Park. Along the way we noticed a relatively new trailhead off of Highway 93 (right next to North Table Mountain). Seeing that none of us have been up to North Table Mountain we decided to check it out.
After walking along the very steep service road we finally made it to the top of the 500ft mountain. Upon our arrival to the top, I was amazed to see a almost pristine prairie. The grasses were extremely lush and it felt like I was somewhere on the Eastern Plains. Also on top were quite a few Deer which made the morning even more delightful. I plan on coming back here again and again!
