After grabbing a continental breakfast at the motel we headed to Carlsbad Caverns. The night before we visited the amphitheater to watch the nightly bat flight but unfortunately the severe thunderstorms in the area canceled any plans of that. So after arriving at the park this morning we started our way back down to the natural cave entrance. I went on ahead of my family and didn’t see them until we met up at the elevators. When you first enter the cavern the smell of bat guano smacks you in the face. After walking down the path for more than a mile I entered the big room. The big room has tons of unique formations and was the highlight of the cavern in my opinion. I know I took a lot of photos but with such a wonderful place how could I not ? 🙂
